Next up for the interview treatment is one of VB’s newest members, LH Rover

Next up in getting to know is a man who we know very little about, but that is all about to change as we delve into the deep and murky world of LH Rover…

1) Tell us a little about yourself

Well, in brief, My name is Riaz Halleron and ive lived in Little Harwood, Blackburn, for all of my life. Ive followed the Rovers since I was a little’n and Its been one hell of a rollercoaster ride. The ups of the premier league and the worthington cup win and the downs of relegation and jacks death. I got my first season ticket in 94/95 and have been going to Ewood ever since, Ive been to my fair share of away games too, most memorably wigan away one year when we one three nil, when I missed Steven Reid’s spectacular goal because of the pie que :(. Ive been reading the articles on the site for a while but didnt make an account till now.

2) 19 Points in 18 games, is this how you thought the season would pan out?

To be honest I thought we might be a little higher in the league, weve dropped points a few to many times for my liking, especially on our travels. Two 3 – 0 losses to fulham and everton is not good at all… But saying that, I didn’t expect us to get this far in the carling cup, and thats a major bonus, especially if we reach the final.

3) Which of the 18 games would you say we have dropped points in, have we gained any points we werent expected to?

Sunderland and stoke are the first two that come to mind. Missed opportunities against Sunderland cost us the game in which we deserved better, and no disrespect to stoke but we drew against a stoke side which id expect us to beat. the thrasing we got at Everton wasn’t great either, I thought we should of done a lot better, especially how we played against them last season.

4) Our strike force, the subject of most debate. What do you think of Di Santo and Kalinic. Who would you put as our strike paring.

Kalinic will become good I think, he is showing the signs of being a quality player, strong and intelligent, he just needs a bit more composure in front of goal. And as for di Sancto, he scored a goal against the dingles, but apart from that I dont think he has shown too much this season, hes a good player but lacks that finishing instinct which we need at the moment, what he needs is for jason roberts to stop giving him shooting lessons 😛

5) The transfer window is around the corner, will anybody be sold or signed?

I think if we do buy, we will have to sell first. I would be dissapointed to see Benni go, but I also think that its inevitable, espeically after the Axe left and Elrio van Heerden has been linked away. Maceo Rigters needs to go right now, has he even played a game? As for signings well…we need a goal scoring striker and i think that Van Nistelrooy would be absolutely awesome, but can’t see it myself due to his wages, James Beattie would be good, a local lad who knows what it means to play for the club, scores goals and is probably available on the cheap after his bust us at Stoke, what more can we ask for? Wouldn’t mind Kevin Nolan… old friend of Sam’s, playing well for Newcastle and played well in the premier league for Bolton, not that I want to get rid of Dunn mind.

6) Who will win the EPL, where will we finish, and who will get relegated!

Other than us, I think its got to be Chelsea or Utd for the title, its hard to predict but if I had to chose it would have to be Chelsea, they have got a strong physical squad and are looking good with goal machine Drogba up front. As for us, well I think tenth is a reasonable target, a season of mid table obsurity might not be what everyone wants, but i think its what we need to stablise the club after a season of survival and maybe challenge for the Carling cup and possibly Europe through the back door next year. As for relegation, I want to see them dingles go down, and i think its anyones game the other two spots.

A cracking read I am sure we can all agree, who’s next? who knows?
