How would Blackburn Rovers react to a first Championship defeat?? This is what we wanted to know, and our answer came on Saturday with us responding exactly as we’d have wanted. With a win!!

AFC Bournemouth was perhaps the best game we could’ve hoped for after the defeat at Norwich City with Gary Bowyer saying that he never doubted he’d get a response from the players who he says are a “credit to the club.”

Speaking to Radio Rovers the Manager said: “The response was never in doubt.

“The way that the lads were was unbelievable, they are a credit to the club.

Jordan Rhodes put a speculation fuelled few days behind him to put us ahead, further goals from Grant Hanley and Rudy Gestede left us in complete control at half time, however, two late goals from The Cherries left it a little nervy at times but we got the 3-2 win we deserved.

Bowyer feels that once again decisions went against us with him furious at the away of the penalty that got Bournemouth back into the match and that is what made us nervy.

He added: “I think the referee decision makes it nervy.

“The lad hasn’t even touched him, I don’t know what we do. Once again we get let down by the penalty decision that goes against us.
