In a bid to keep Darragh Lenihan at Blackburn a £5m price tag has been slapped around his neck.

Championship interest has been shown in Lenihan following relegation into League One but Blackburn MUST keep him as he’s seen as the future at Ewood Park.

Vital Blackburn’s poll asked
Should Blackburn sell Lenihan?

How the Vital Blackburn members voted
No, he’s Rovers’ future 82%
Yes, but ONLY for the claimed £5m 10%
Yes 4%
It doesn’t really matter what we think! 4%

There’s a reason Lenihan’s attracting interest, he is a player capable of playing at a higher level and this could make it hard for Blackburn to retain him as a League One club. But with his help Rovers can get back into the Championship and he could become a lynchpin in the side for Tony Mowbray to build one around.

However, it goes without saying, like any player, he’ll have a price and if that £5m asking price was offered the club, whatever the stance and view of the owners, couldn’t turn this down could they? If that money would be invested back into Blackburn’s another matter…

On the topic of ‘investment’ it would appear Rovers are close to investing in another player?

An interest in working with Dominic Samuel once again has been shown by Tony Mowbray. The Blackburn boss was in charge during the Reading forwards loan at Coventry.

Having been left out of Reading’s squad for a pre-season tour of Holland it would suggested Samuel, 23, is indeed set to leave the Madejski Stadium and this could see him come to Ewood – assuming Championship interest from Ipswich and Barnsley can be seen off?

Vital Blackburn’s poll asks
Would you be happy with his arrival?

What the Vital Blackburn members can vote
Dominic Samuel looks like he’s signing? Are we…
Happy
Disappointed
Not too bothered
Think we need to see him before we decide
