Most footballers have something to say about a former employee when they move on so Blackburn Rovers new loan signing Luke Varney isn’t any different.
Varney has had plenty to say about being happy to join Blackburn (as you’d expect) but also says he was happy to get away from the chaos at Leeds United. However, even if things are settling down a bit at Ewood Park we’re hardly the Football Club that’s a beacon of light to be used as a yardstick for stability!!
It might have been a difficult time for Varney at Elland Road but he’s got to remember that Leeds are still the club that pay some of his wages (I’d like to think we’re not paying it all during his loan at Ewood) and he’s contracted to them so a little less talk about them and more focus on what he’s doing with Blackburn wouldn’t go amiss.
I’m not sure on Varney myself, I’m glad that Gary Bowyer was able to bring in another attacking option but I don’t think that he’s done much to warrant a reputation that he built up as a younger player with Crewe Alexander and has often struggled to reach those heights since.
Maybe Blackburn is the club to bring the best out of him though??
