When you’ve scored a hat-trick you would expect to be on the winning side wouldn’t you really? Although that wasn’t the case for Rudy Gestede on Saturday!

H wasn’t on the losing side either against Forest mind! But three times Blackburn led on Saturday at Ewood Park but three times we were pegged back in the three-three draw, which is great for a Forest fan and the neutral but frustrating for us….

Gestede, of course, has told the Official Website that he was happy to get his hat-trick but was left with mixed emotions as we didn’t get the three-points.

Scoring all three with his head, a main strength of his, also pleased him too as he hadn’t managed to do so in a while, he also feels he more than made up for a miss in the last game against Birmingham, which ended in a two-two draw.

‘I scored three so I’m happy for this but unfortunately we didn’t get the three points.

‘I missed a big chance against Birmingham in the last game so it was good to score now.

‘I haven’t scored with my head for a long time so I’m back now and hopefully I will score in the next game as well.’

There was no hiding from the fact that he knows having scored three-goals at home we should be winning, as we should have Birmingham having twice led in that draw too with our lost points at home costing us.

He’s now looking for us to end the season positively and then build for next season….

‘At home we should have won with the three goals, it is the same feeling from Birmingham, we should have won more points than this but it is what has cost us in our season, in this situation we’ve got to win.

‘We’ll make everything clear and start to build for next season now, we’ll have the meeting on Monday with the video and see what we can improve and what we should have done better.’

Will he be at Ewood Park next season though? You would have to seriously doubt this to be honest wouldn’t you.

Gary Bowyer, who spoke about his anger at our failure to hold the lead and how annoyed Gestede must have been but hailed the business we did in bringing him in knows that he’s added to his value as a result: Audio – Bowyer On Forest Draw: Click Here

If the 19-goal striker, who should add to this tally before the season is out, is still at Ewood Park next season it’ll be a major surprise wont it?
