Oscar To Replace Roque?

Blackburn Rovers are understood to be interested in replacing Roque Santa Cruz with his International strike partner Oscar Cardozo.

Newspaper reports are saying that the 26-year-old Benfica striker is was on Sam Allardyce’s hit list when in charge at Bolton Wanderers and following (FINALLY) the departure of Santa Cruz to Manchester City this week the Rovers manager could now turn his attentions to the free scoring Paraguayan.

Benfica are understood to be reluctantly letting the striker go but are also understood to be asking for £6 million and that isn’t a price that Rovers are thought to be willing to match (personally I don’t think that’s a bad price) so if Cardozo is to come to Ewood Park we’ll need to do some negotiations over the asking price of the Paraguayan International.
