Tony Mowbray has revealed he’s confident the injuries to Darragh Lenihan and Bradley Dack aren’t too serious and he isn’t ‘anticipating any great length’ out for either player.

Lenihan, who remains a Blackburn player despite Sheffield United interest, suffered injury in Saturday’s defeat against Southend as did summer signing Dack.

However, Mowbray told the Official Website: ‘I’d have to say at this moment it is good news on both of them.’

After sustaining a foot injury there were concerns for Lenihan, who had to stay on against Southend, but an x-ray didn’t show any serious damage only bruising.

‘Darragh is going to have a scan this afternoon, the initial x-ray is pretty clear, so it is good news if the scan on the part of his foot shows only bruising. We’ll have to see but it looks pretty positive.’

Dack ‘felt twinge’ in his hamstring so Mowbray wasn’t taking any chances and the boss remains hopeful this was caught early so it’s just a case of seeing how things go but, as said, he’s positive when it comes to both.

‘Bradley, again we brought him off pretty soon after he felt a twinge, so I don’t think too much damage has been done there either so hopefully that will settle down quickly,’ said Mowbray. ‘I’m not anticipating any great length of time for either of them.’

Clearly both, which could have been the case anyway, will sit out the League Cup meeting with Coventry at the Ricoh Arena this evening.
