Rovers on the Johnson contract case?

Image for Rovers on the Johnson contract case?

Rovers have been sweating so much over their own contract rebel in Junior Hoilett that it is easy to forget that their are other clubs putting up with similar annoying situations.

Over at Fulham they have their own contract stand off – this time involving ex-Everton and Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson.

Johnson is out of contract in the summer and has yet to sign a new deal to commit himself to the Craven cause.

And it seems Rovers have clocked this and are contemplating making a cheeky, cut price bid when the January window opens as an alternative to the Vedad Ibisevic bid mooted last week.

The Daily Mail is reporting – ‘Sportsmail revealed Blackburn’s interest earlier this month (bit of gloating to start with, nice guys) and, although Martin Jol says Johnson is not for sale, a £2million bid may be enough for a player who will be free in the summer.’
