Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has imparted good news this afternoon in the form of promising injury news regards two of the clubs first team centre backs.

Matt Kilgallon is in line for a squad return after recovering from a strain picked up in the 4-0 defeat to Bolton and has been training in the last few days so will be available for the trip to Huddersfield tomorrow.

Meanwhile Grant Hanley, who picked up a concerning knock in the 1-0 midweek defeat to Bournemouth, has come back from assessments with the news that no lasting damage has been done to the Scottish man’s rather battered end of season body, meaning he is in with a shout of a return also.

‘Killa (he’s not a real killer) is back in training so that is a massive boost for us. His experience at this time will be a big plus for us,’ Bowyer told the club’s official website.

‘With Grant we are going to give him every chance but we are going to have to be sensible.

‘The lad is desperate to play, but we don’t want to push him too hard and risk losing him for the rest of the season.

‘We’ll give him every chance, we’ll see how he is in the morning, it has improved dramatically since yesterday lunchtime and we’ll see how he goes.

‘There is no severe damage there, we’ve had it all checked out.’

The bad news is that midfielder Tom Cairney will not be fit and ready for tomorrow’s game, with his injury recovery only just about up and running, the game in West Yorkshire comes too soon for the former Hull man.

‘Tom is still missing,’ Bowyer contined. ‘He’s been out jogging today so hopefully that’s the start of him on his recovery.

‘We’ve had to settle him down as it just flared up a little in midweek but it has settled down and he’s started again now.’

Further injury news comes in the form of news of Josh King and Dickson Etuhu’s return to action tonight for the under-21’s against Liverpool as both press for a first team return.
