Blackburn Rovers have completed the FREE Transfer signing of Lars Jacobson.

The right-back was understood to be the subject of interest from Sam Allardyce and the former Odense, Hamburg, FC Copenhagen and Nurnberg defender has now completed a move to Ewood Park, where he has signed a two-year contract.

Jacobsen’s twelve-month stay at Everton was hampered by injury, however, the Danish International (who has won 22 International caps) did manage to pick up an FA Cup runners-up medal with the Toffees.

  • Looks like a shrewd move – an experienced right back with some Premier League experience on a free transfer – with Andrews and Emmerton able to cover. If he’s as good as Givet the defence looks to be covered. Anyone know if he can cover central defence as well?

  • gettin him on a free is a great move….Walker i know it says hampered by injury but it was a dislocated shoulder..so not really a ‘football’ injury, makes it sound a bit better…not trying to get at u by the by :0) if he cant cover centreback we mite need one, as we only really have The Wall, Givet and GOD!! with enough league experience

  • No he can’t really cover centerback, he can better cover left midfield, I would say. Again as a dane he is a very good signing, his injury wasn’t serious as you write Clint. He will do well when he get the chance and somebody beliving him…..I think the last thing is pretty important, when I think it over. Most danish footballers need a manager who belives them, they don’t have to much confidence in themself.
    Cheers

  • Jesus ******** Christ, this guy has had more free transfers than my 4 year old son after a day out at a fare. A long sicknote history also in his career but has played Champions League football and has a strong international career. In summary keep him for a year uninjured and flog him off for a profit. At age 30 you would have to think this is his last serious gig.

  • The jist i get is that when fit he is as solid and reliable as they come and for a right back – that is what we need. Just keep him fit Sam – KEEP HIM FIT.

  • Is he better than Kiz or Ooijer? If the answer is no then we should have kept them and not bothered. However, I hope he starts more than 4 games for us (more than Everton) and puts in a good show of himself.
