Blackburn Rovers have signed Liverpool striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle until the end of the season.

The French striker moved to Liverpool in 2003 but has failed to secure a regular first team place after only scoring four times for the club in 37 Premiership games. However he did nett a hat-trick in a recent cup game a Luton and manager Mark Hughes believes he will be a good addition to the squad.

‘We were keen to add to our striking options and welcome Florent here.’

Blackburn have also signed Martin Ollson a teenage defender from Hogaborgs BK in Sweden after he impressed on a trial.
