Time To Skip Sunday Lunch

A choice between sunday lunch with my lovely mum Moira and watching the Rovers??? ooo its tough… sorry Mum.

Rovers face a tough trip to Pompey who are the FA Cup finalists and currently occupy a good spot in the Premier League.

Blackburn will look to keep up the hgh standard of performance from last week’s impressive showing against Man United.

Portsmouth Team News:

Nwankwo Kanu is pressing for a recall upfront but on-loan Milan Baros should be given another run alongside cup-tied top scorer Jermain Defoe. Although Kanu always scores against Rovers so expect him to feature at some point.

Lauren may switch to left-back for this game in place of the suspended Hermann Hreidarsson, who received a red card in the defeat against Man City.

Striker David Nugent and midfielder Pedro Mendes are both nursing ‘slight knocks’ but could be among the substitutes.

But defender Noe Pamarot is not ready to play, despite returning to training after 10 weeks out with a knee injury.

Player to watch: Sol Campbell

If Blackburn are to win they will have to find a way past this man. David James is good but somewhat overrated… Sol Campbell is the real deal.

Everyone knows what he is about and it should be one hell of a battle between him and Jason Roberts.

Blackburn Team News:

Sparky should stick with the same 11 that did so well against Manchester United.

Luckily there are no major concerns ahead of the game so Sparky more or less should have a full compliment to choose from.

Player to watch: Morten Gamst

Has been the Gamst of old recently and will need to be on top form as Pompey are strong in the air and the crosses will have to be pin point.

We need a goal from Morten as well as this is the kind of team he normally thrives against.

Match Prediction:

I am feeling good about this one as I feel Pompey have one eye on the FA Cup final and rovers should be on a high.

I’m going to go with a 1-0 Rovers victory.

Next Fixtures:

Derby at home. If ever there was a banker 3 points this is it… but then again, this is Rovers.
