Blackburn Rovers Winger, Elrio Van Heerden, has reportedly signed a short term contract with Turkish club, Sivasspor. Early reports are that Van Heerden has signed a loan contract, with Sivasspor having the option to buy, with a figure yet to be determined.

Elrio struggled to make in impact on the Rovers first team squad, and this is seen by many as Sam Allardyce and the board attempting to clear some wage space to bring in 1 or 2 fresh new faces who will have the impact on the first team squad.

More to come on this transfer…..

  • huh, why doesnt the Elrio picture come up!!!! ANyways, dont think this will be much of a loss, if its a loan then it has to be good for everybody.

  • Hmm.. i dont really mind, if theres a fee… which is larger than what his wages have cost us, then theres no harm done! and we make a profit!

  • has this guy even played a first team game yet!!! i seen some of clips on youtube.com and he seemed a good running player with good pace! id give this guy left side berth instead of diouf anyday!!! such a pity 🙁

  • Bit of a shame if we have never really got to see him in action but there must be a reason for him not playing. Shame we will probably never know!

  • never seen him play myself, hes supposed to be fast, but maybe hes had a few too many hotpots or something, cause hes not getting a look from sam

  • Bit of a mystery this one. as he seemed a good bet at the time and Sam said he didnt expect him to crack on till xmas anyway – strange!!!!

  • This could be the ultimate wheel and deal. Sam brings him in on a free and then sells him on in a short space of time. If his departure make room for someone who will come in and play straight away then I’ll be happy

  • Good luck to him. Hope he gets the playing time he needs to be match fit. Clearly, playing in this world cup meant everything to him.
