A few questions for Svens Ambition over at Vital Leicester prior to tomorrow’s game. You can never beat getting the inside track

Ahead of the clash with Leicester City tomorrow we thought it only fair that we grill someone a little bit more qualified to talk the Foxes than we ever could.

As a result we put some questions to Vital Leicester editor Svens Ambition.

Sasman fired up the question generator and this is what they came up with.

1)Leicester City! Tell us a little about your club and why you support the Foxes?

We’re a club on the up who haven’t quite found the consistency required on the pitch to match the spending and the talk from off the pitch. Promotion is our only aim for the season and when it didn’t look likely after just over 10 games, Sven was given his marching orders.

You tend to think the board will have no complaints doing the same if Nigel Pearson shows the same lack of progress this season, after now really having his own squad at his disposal.

As for me, my affinity came during Martin O’Neill’s reign, I loved the fight and the spirit and of course historically we’ve had some damn good names associated with us which always helps I think.

2) What can we expect from Nigel Pearson and the boys. What style of football do you bring?

We should be – note the should – very fast paced in attack and on the counter and very fluid in how we try to win the game. We bring good energy and an intensity to our game when we are on form.

However, like last season, we are prone to switching off and not taking the chances we carve out, so if you’re awake in attack you wil get chances of your own unless we can plug the gaps we all too often see.

3) Who is the key man in the Leicester squad and what does he provide?

It’s difficult to pick out one man at the moment because it really depends on how we perform.

Morgan can be a rock at the back, and he’s revelling in the newly delivered Captain’s armband, whilst Drinkwater is settling in nicely in midfield.

Ok, I’ll go Kasper Schmeichel purely on the basis of consistency which the team at large are still lacking.

4) Who is the emerging talent or the next big thing!

Liam Moore in defence. Fans wondered if this season would be his big breakthrough, and Pearson is keeping faith with him alongside Morgan at the moment.

Should have a very big future ahead of him if he keeps working hard, and keeps his head down. The lad who may take more of the headlines though, depending on how many chances he gets, is Jeff Schlupp, big, strong and a clear eye for goal.

5) If you could sign 1 Rover, who would it be and why?

Has to be Dann. A solid centre half with the experience to match and he’d certainly improve our backline in my opinion.

6) Promotion, is it a realistic ambition for either of our teams?

With the players we have, I’d have to say yes, but again we need to sort out our consistency and break what feels like a win one, lose one cycle.

If we can put together a couple of good 3-4 back to back wins on the trot as the season goes on, we should be up there or there abouts.

I can’t see automatic promotion at the moment, but the play offs should be achievable.

As for Rovers, whilst you’ve managed to keep the majority of your team together you have lost some key players I believe.

The team as it stands I think has the quality to go up, but what will hold you back is the off pitch issues I think.

I can’t see a club bouncing straight back with promotion with the fractures you have between the board, the manager and the fans and I don’t think Kean is the man is foster the bunker mentality you’d definitely need to do it this season.

7) Make a team of Rovers/Foxes with no more than 6 players from 1 team!

This is difficult as I’ve got to balance it!

Schmeichel, De Laet, Morgan, Dann, Olsson, Marshall, Dunn, Murphy, Danns, Pedersen, Beckford.

8) A prediction please!

Cheers mate
2-1 to us, I hope!

Thanks to Svens Ambition for taking the time to speak with us, good luck for tomorrow. Obviously not enough to actually win the game but good luck all the same!
