A crucial game at the top of the table will see second placed Shrewsbury head to Blackburn – with a five point lead – looking to at least maintain a their advantage over Rovers, third. Shrewsbury – who travel to play off rivals Portsmouth – are also five off the Shrews.

Relegation threatened sides AFC Wimbledon and Northampton know victories at MK Dons and Bradford – respectively – could be enough to take them out of the bottom four. However, rock bottom Bury, who are being cut adrift, and second bottom Rochdale will remain in their current positions no matter what results they get against Charlton and Gillingham.

Wigan are two points clear of Shrewsbury going into the weekend, the Latics face a tricky visit from a Peterborough side looking to force their way back into the top six.
