Rovers are set to sign Simon Vukcevic as Steve Kean tries desperately to add to a threadbare squad.

The deal for Vukcevic is rumoured to be worth around £2 million which would be an absolute bargain if it were true.

Vukcevic will undergo a medical later on today before finalising a move to Ewood Park.

The Montenegro international is a creative midfielder, who can play in several positions – wide right, wide left, behind the striker and central midfield.

  • Bargain it has to be said. Hope it’s not too good to be true, he’s got a bit of attitude apprently but hopefully we can tame him and get the best out of him.

  • Sounds great – a quality player for a low fee is never to be sniffed at. I have to ask whether this is really our priority at the moment – shouldn’t we be getting a centre half and a striker in? Don’t get me wrong – if this fella is up for it then that’s brilliant, but we need to strengthen other areas more.

  • who is tis chimp he s signing now 2 million we could off got upson /johnson/larrson/Reo-Coker all for the price all we would of have to do is pay wages ……come kean buy a real player

  • This guy is miles better than Reo Coker or Larrson.. and we will sign better players than Upson for defence.. Johnson was too much for his age..

  • I don’t know about this signing to be honest, he’s got a reputation for being a bit of an ego and I very much doubt that he’s the kind of player who really wants to come and fight for the club. Seems he’s about the best we can do until we consolidate ourselves in the league under new ownership for the moment.

  • Tubzz.. Vukcevic is a great player.. if he had a longer contract he would be worth about 10 million.. shows how stupid you are.. 2 million nobody? Samba and Nelsen spring to mind..
