Blackburn Rovers left-back Stephen Warnock returns to Liverpool on Saturday for the first time but he insists that he has NO regrets about leaving the Reds.

Warnock hasn’t faced his former club since switching to Ewood Park some 15-months ago so returning to Anfield on Saturday will be his first appearance against them since he left, but he has no regrets about leaving them and also sees it as just another match.

Warnock told BBC Radio Lancashire: “It’s just another game, I’ve been here over a year now.

“My time at Anfield is gone and I have no regrets about leaving.

“I don’t look back on it and think I wish I was still there or anything like that.

“I’m just looking forward to the game, it’ll be interesting playing at Anfield for the opposition team
.”

Liverpool’s loss has certainly been our gain here; hopefully he can show them what they’ve been missing!

  • Stevie W came here for regular first team football, and that is what he is getting. Returning to Anfield will be special for him but he is right to view it as ?just another game? as much as possible. He has been superb since we signed him, and hopefully with his help we can get the win against Liverpool that we really need.

  • Hopefully wont try to hard and get sent off, what would be great would be him not even get a yellow and be available against United need him against Ronaldo desperately hate to think Berner against Ronaldo.

  • quality player is stephen wasnt sure on him when he came here first but he has proved to be a quality addition to our team!

  • Warnock has been a revelation for us, one of our best left backs all time i say, however a dip in form in the last few games, hopefully he lifts for this big game

  • Everyone has a dip here and there, how you get over this is the key thing isn’t it. If he can’t get motiviated for a return to his old club he NEVER will. Hopefully he won’t be super charged and get himself booked or sent off, as we NEED him for all the matches we have left.

  • Solid left back who does his job well and with the minimum amount of fuss, good player but I woudn’t rate him as one of the best of all time just yet, early days still, give him three more years and see if he still has the same consistency.

  • LIverpool was a bit hasty getting rid of him… however you wont hear me complain about that!!!! As solid a left back as you can wish for. £1.5 million is a snip.

  • ANother Sparky bargain il tell ya that for sure. Lets see who he snaps up this summer, all depends on where we finish, if we do sneak into europe, i see a peruvian double swoop, Farfan and Pizzaro. Yes pizzaro from Chelsea, why, just wait and see

  • I thought he played well today, gave the ball away cheaply a couple of times but then again who DIDN’T for Rovers today!!!
