Williamson injury confirmed

Lee Williamson has been ruled out for up to six weeks after a scan highlighted an ankle ligament sprain.

Williamson has only been at the club two weeks but an awkward fall during the second half at Hull City on Tuesday night has proven to be costly with the midfielder now likely to return in April.

With Appleton already keen on midfield reinforcements this will only strengthen his determination for extra cover with only Jason Lowe and Danny Murphy as fit and functioning central midfielders.

The loan window closes on March 28 so expect Rovers to be pressing for additional bodies prior to then.
