You knew it had to happen

Rovers have been linked with a loan move for QPR outcast Joey Barton.

Barton is about to start a 12 match ban after behaving like a royal moron in the last game of last season at Manchester City and having being disciplined internally by the club as well QPR are now looking to loan him out to the Championship in a bid to run his extensive exclusion from the game down… and we are apparently leading the chase.

In the Championship Barton wouldn’t be able to play until late October but the chance to have a box to box midfielder in the ranks would appeal given the lack of legs that currently reside in the Rovers midfield.

The link to Barton has surfaced as a result of uncertainty in the move for Sporting Lisbon’s Adrien Silva who has caused mass confusion by telling half the world he wants to move to Rovers and then spinning round to tell the other half that he is happy to stay in Portugal.

If the move for Barton does materialise I would love to be a fly on the wall when he is reacquainted with Morten Gamst Pedersen.
