Blackburn Rovers have handed a trial to Austria Under-21 international goalkeeper Lukas Konigshofer.

The 20-year-old shot stopper is actually yet to make a first team appearance for FC Karnten but has earned rave reviews for his performances for the Austrian national side.

Konigshofer will spend this week training with the first team at Blackburn to try and earn a permanent deal in the summer.

Konigshofer speaking to local media outlet ORF, said – ‘I have been introduced into the squad in a great way and everything looks very professional,’

‘I am not prepared to think about what might happen until after I have completed my trial at the end of the week.’

Plans for next season are very much underway already it seems!

  • watch to see who we loan him out to next season – if he’s decent, I hope Wycombe (my “other” team) like Frank Fielding who proved to be excellent
