Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce has dismissed claims that Tottenham are set to bid big for Rovers defender Chris Samba.
The Sun ran a frankly useless story that Chris Samba was going to be subject to a £10 million bid from Harry Redknapp.
But Allardyce has been quick of the mark today in exposing that particular link as a load of rubbish.
‘It is an absolute nonsense,’ Allardyce told Sky Sports News.
‘As far as I am concerned there has been no contact with Tottenham – and I know that as I spoke to Harry Redknapp.’
In other news, Franco Di Santo has been given some praise as he made his debut last night in the dominated by Rovers, but ultimately fruitless 0-0 draw with Hibernian at Ewood Park.
Franco looked very promising in the 60 minutes he was on the pitch and showed touches of class that a certain in no way lying, sulky Paraguayan would of showed back in the days when he wasn’t a back stabber.
Big Sam thinks that there is plenty more to come.
Sam continued – ‘He is a young man that is frustrated at not playing too much first-team football last season,’
‘He is looking forward to playing here – he is a talented player, if not a little inexperienced, with lots of ability and I think there is a lot to come from him, but I think we will take it easy with him.
‘He will play a lot of games, but I don’t think he will play every game but when he gets used to it I think he will be a force for us.’
