Sam Allardyce is thought to be looking to raid his old club of top scorer Yakubu, as he tries to keep West Ham in the top flight next season.

The former Rovers boss is looking at a £1 million move for the natural finisher, which would certainly be a bargain.

The Nigerian forward has a relegation release clause in his contract, which would give Rovers no option but to sell if the player wanted to leave.

Yakubu has already attracted interest from the Middle East and Asia after stating that he did not want to play Championship football, but it is believed the player would favour a move back to the English top flight.

It seems inevitable then, that Yak will be leaving Ewood this summer, and ‘feed the yak and he will score’ will no longer be sung by the Rovers faithful..

As to where he will be going, nobody can be certain, but West Ham is certainly a possibility.
