Blackburn’s unbeaten run in the Championship came to an end of Saturday when Sheffield Wednesday snatched an injury-time winner.

Sheffield Wednesday, who won for the first time in seven games away, ended our unbeaten run that stood at nine with the late winner in the 2-1 defeat at Ewood Park.

The visitors got off to the best possible start when Kieran Lee (3) was left with a tap in after the recalled Jason Steele had made a mess of a Stevie May effort, when he beat the offside trap, to leave Lee to finish from close range.

Our response was swift though as our first meaningful attack brought the equaliser when Jordan Rhodes knocked down to Alex Baptiste (16) and the Bolton Wanderers loanee fired us level.

Stevie May, who profited from a Shane Duffy error, forced Steele into a save, which the Middlesbrough loanee did well this time to keep it level with Jordan Rhodes, after a long delay after an injury to Lewis McGugan, headed against the post. An even better chance for Sheffield Wednesday to go into the break ahead was missed when Glenn Loovens headed over from close range.

Ryan Tunnicliffe, brought on not to long before, forced Sheffield Wednesday ‘keeper Keiren Westwood into a fine save as the Irish international tipped over his volley and when another substitute David Dunn put an effort wide a one-one draw seemed on.

That was until Claude Dielna (90+3), who had only been on the pitch a matter of minutes, drove home via the aide of a deflection from 25-yards to give Sheffield Wednesday two-one win.
