Bowyer injury relief

Rovers are set for something of an injury boost this weekend when club action returns as they host Charlton Athletic.

Gary Bowyer’s boys are set to welcome DJ Campbell back into the fold alongside the returning Dickson Etuhu – who has been out of action for months on end.

Other good news merrily arrives in the form of the eligibility of Jordan Rhodes and Josh King, who have both come back from their international withdrawals unscathed and barring any late setbacks will be in the squad to face the Addicks.

‘Dickson has done really well this week in training, as has DJ,’ Bowyer told the club’s official website.

‘They are both in contention, certainly this weekend, but if not, then definitely the next.

‘Scott (Dann, who missed the last fixture at Wigan) and Jordan have both come through training today. They both had niggles, Jordan’s was enough to keep him out of the Scotland game but he’s worked hard with the medical team so we are delighted that he is back in contention as is Scott.’

One player who isn’t quite so lucky is Corry Evans, who picked up an ankle injury in midweek and is likely to miss Saturday’s encounter pending a late check.

Grant Hanley will also serve the first game of his three game suspension with Matt Kilgallon ready to step in as cover.

Rovers will be looking to return to winning ways by beating a side who stayed unbeaten against our lads last season, drawing 1-1 at the Valley at the start of the campaign before emerging 2-1 victors at Ewood Park at the turn of 2013.
