A win was (eventually) always going to come the way of Blackburn Rovers with this the case on Saturday afternoon at Ewood Park against Charlton Athletic.

Blackburn keeping a clean sheet was a positive and with Jordan Rhodes getting himself two goals and Tom Lawrence his first goal since joining Rovers on loan meant that we won 3-0!!

This was a win Rovers Manager Gary Bowyer was quick to dedicate to the supporter’s, he told the The Official Blackburn Rovers Website: “First and foremost we are absolutely delighted with the win for the supporters.

“I thought they were magnificent from start to finish, they stuck with us throughout.

Adding: “The manner of the win was first class, we scored three great goals and it could have been more as I thought their goalkeeper had a great game.

“The first goal was massively important, it gave our players a boost and we kicked on from there.

“When you consider that we travelled up and down to London twice this week and the efforts that the players have put in in those two games, then it is a fantastic performance from them.

Relief is one word you could used following the win, which is something Bowyer (which I’m sure he is as it’ll ease a little of the pressure building on him) said he sensed you could feel around Ewood.

However, GB knows we’ve only won once and we can’t get carried away with this, also saying: “There’s relief around the ground, we haven’t celebrated a win this season and we had forgotten what that felt like, so I’m delighted for everybody.

“But we can’t get carried away, it is one win, we need to now go and perform at a tough place like Hull, so we’ll start focusing on that now.

This win will be worth more if Rovers can build on it so that’s the next test is some momentum can be built!!
