Pascal Chimbonda, he of the gloves and derby winning goal, has terminated his Blackburn Rovers contract with immediate effect.

Sky Sports is reporting that Chimbo is now free to talk to whoever he wants as he was very much surplus to requirements at Ewood Park.

Nelsen told Sky Sports – ‘I know that he was looking at other options from Blackburn so obviously this now frees him to potentially look at other clubs.

‘He is a very good player and he will do a very good job somewhere.’

Good luck Pascal.

  • personally think it’s a shame he’s going. he’s a decent player and as i’ve stressed before he’s been used at left back most of the time he’s been poor and he’s much better at Right Back. He should do well for Ipswich with paul Jewell.

  • Good attacking wing back, just lost concentration just a bit too often at the back, if he had a more footballing mind he would be a great fullback

  • He is a good player, new how to defend and attack and was fairly consistant IMO but with Salgado in super form he had no chance. Hopefuly Venky’s start spending some cash and we can wrap up a replacement and a few other new faces to bring to the Ewood.

  • Felt Sam made a big mistake in signing him, never rated him. He’s a right footer playing at left back, decent going forward, but a clown in defence. A flop signing by Sam, 2M wasted on a clown.
