A novel way of referring to Jordan Rhodes I would say? Although this is what Gary Bowyer has done when quoting a phrase to rovers.co.uk, saying he ‘does exactly what it says on the tin!’

Had it not been for Rhodes in injury-time on Saturday Blackburn would have slipped to a one-nil defeat at Hull but his header salvaged a point at the KC Stadium.

I think we all know, on what was his 150th appearance for the club with him scoring his 79th goal in that time, what Rhodes is all about and following that goal, as he headed home a Craig Conway corner, he came in for praise from the Rovers boss who said.

‘He does exactly what it says on the tin and he does it very, very well.

‘He had a header in the first half and you always know he’s going to get another chance. He knows that as well and you can’t afford to not mark him, it’s as simple as that. It’s a great finish.

‘His goals return for the club is phenomenal. It’s a fantastic achievement and the thing is he’s far from finished and long may they continue to go in.’

Rhodes’ fifth of the season, and in his last four-match alone, means it’s safe to say the Scottish international, who has also earned himself a recall, is very much ‘up and running’ for the season now!
