Rovers midfielder David Dunn has confirmed his interest in a new deal at Blackburn Rovers, with his existing one due to expire in the summer.

Dunny, who has been at the club for over a decade cumulatively, having had a ‘sabbatical’ at Birmingham City, is looking to sign a deal similar to the one he signed last summer – which was a one year deal.

But the stalwart has accepted that the club will make him play a waiting game.

“I`ve had a few little chats here and there but it`s like last season, when I think I signed just before pre-season,’ Dunny told the Lancashire Telegraph.

“Although it`s always nice to know what you`ve got in store and where you`re going to be, in the same breath you`ve got to be patient.

“Ideally I`d like to stay here for another year.

“I`m going to carry on playing wherever it is but ideally that would be Blackburn Rovers.

“So it`s a case of finishing the season and then seeing what happens. I think patience is the main thing here.

“We`ll see where the club stand with it, weigh the options up and see where we go from there.”

Dunn has never made any secret of the fact that he considers Blackburn Rovers his home, with his ultimate preference always playing for his boyhood club.

But we’ll being waiting till into the summer till hear any definite news on this issue.
