Rovers midfielder Dickson Etuhu is continuing his comeback from injury after coming through an hour unscathed yesterday for the Reserves side.

Etuhu has been on the shelf since February after injuring his knee, but is now ready to step up his comeback after putting in a strong show during Rovers 3-2 win over Rochdale.

Etuhu will be facing some stiff competition for a spot in midfield with the likes of Jason Lowe, Lee Williamson and Tom Cairney all very much in good form (not to mention Corry Evans when he returns) but competition for places is never a bad thing.

‘It was good for Dickson to get his 60 minutes, I thought he was excellent, so that is a big plus for us.’ McPhillips told the official website.

‘He’s chomping at the bit now and he’ll be all the better for that 60 minutes.

‘He’ll be back in training on Thursday, he’s looked really sharp and has been very good in training I have to say, he’s been back for three weeks now and he’s done really well.

‘I thought he was the pick of the game.’

Etuhu could be on the bench for this weekends tie with Middlesbrough.
