Sam Hart’s continued football for the remainder of this season will come at League One rivals Rochdale after the defender completed a loan switch this week.

Hart – an academy graduate at Manchester United – joined Blackburn from Premier League side Liverpool in August, making seven first team appearances this season, including one against Rochdale earlier in the campaign – November’s Checkatrade Trophy meeting in November.

Commenting after his move Hart, 21, was quoted by the BBC: ‘The clubs have been talking to each other for a little while. I’m glad that we’ve got it over the line. I spoke to the manager and the coaches before joining and they were all very positive towards getting me here.’

Meanwhile, Callum Wright is a player Blackburn are battling to keep.

Everton have been credited with an interest in re-signing their former talent, three years after releasing him. However, according to the Lancashire Telegraph, Rovers ‘remain in negotiations’ with Wright, 17, about a new deal.

The U23 regular could become the latest academy player – also interesting Leicester, Tottenham and Stoke – to commit his future to Blackburn, as long as a deal can be agreed with Wright and the Liverpudlian resists the lure of the Premier League.
