He’s BACK.

Rovers Global Advisor Shebby Singh has returned to the fore of operations at Blackburn Rovers after the removal of manager Michael Appleton and has reaffirmed the owners commitment to the club… now all they need is the know how to pull it off.

Shebby has been on a charm offensive in the last 24 hours, speaking to BBC Radio Five Live, Radio Lancashire and a sprinkling of media publications.

He was quick to stress that accusations of interference that have been levied at him in the past are wide of the mark, with his job so far being that of a firefighter (n.b. don’t picture it, just don’t).

‘I had pretty much been accused of interfering (in the past),’ Singh is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying. ‘I was always held responsible for the lack of results and poor performances.

‘As ridiculous as those allegations were, they were out there and that really fuelled the fans. When the situation came (to appoint Appleton), I decided to take a step back. I can`t carry the can for people. As a global advisor I report to my bosses and speak to my bosses. I would say my job here has pretty much been fighting fires.’

‘We all know the transition period will end very soon and the fans will start enjoying their football again,` the former Malaysia player told BBC. ‘I would like to assure the fans that everything possible is being done to make the club enjoy long-term stability. In football you have to set long-term plans.

Singh has admitted that Rovers are a club in need of a boost but he seems to have found a new love for the phrase ‘transition’ which can be stacked next to ‘Robbie’ and ‘you know’ in the book of Shebbyisms.

Shebby continued – ‘Unfortunately situations sometimes happen where you have managers with differing philosophies and this can cause the transition period to take longer than expected.

‘The ambition is to get the club back on its feet and achieve what all club owners would like to achieve. So you can take it from me the owners are 100% committed.`

I can hear the loud roar from here…
