With YOUR help Vital Blackburn has been trying to determine what have been the best and worst of the Blackburn Rovers 2006-2007 season.
The nominations are still be taken for other Awards, but the Vital Blackburn Awards for 2006-2007 continue to be dished out with the
The Tugay Award for Midfielder of the Season
When asked to simply leave the name of your Midfielder of the Season most felt?
David Bentley should be the Award Winner! So congratulations to Bentley.
This was a unanimous decision, although there was only EVER likely to be one winner here and this winner was Bents. I will (as promised) give an honorary mention to Tugay (although technically he had this anyway with the Award named after him!)
The consistency of Bents had been unbelievable, he performed to SUCH a high level over and over it was unreal. His delivery was pretty much spot on EVERYTIME, even if those arriving weren’t quite on the same wavelength.
I still genuinely believe that if there had been a better (and more consistent) right-midfielder/winger in England last season (Englishman I must add) then I didn’t see him.

Thanks for voting on this, PLEASE KEEP your votes coming in for these other Awards, as there is STILL time to vote so click here for the list of categories and vote on the one(s) you want!

Midfielder of the Season

Bents proved any doubters well and truly wrong here didn’t he, WHAT a season he had and what a footballer he is. I’ve not seen a delivery as good as his since Becks!
“I’ve not seen a delivery as good as his since….” my postie with my Rovers tickets??? LOL
Well deserved winner Mr Bentley, shows the improvements made have been noticed, even if not by the “man on borrowed time” managing England
Getting a little adventurous dude, making part of you posts italic also!
Well deserved, our most consistent midfielder, im sure savage would of featured iin this catergory
Indeed HDM, i have an adventerous side in me! Havent used HTML script since i stopped doing my website about 5 years ago so its been a while!
There is a reason you didnt see a better English right sided midfielder last season…. because there wasnt one.
utterly no doubt on this one 🙂
sasman – I would agree dude, had Sav been fit all season this is another thing that couldn’t be doubted.
BomBom – It is good fun (even if it does get a tad repetitive having to type the same commands!) using html isn’t it. Using it within comments is also handy if you want to make a real forceful point. Although I would suggest not using it all the time in comments that are made.
MikeyGamst – All I can say to that dude is TOUCHE!
Bents4eng – This is technically a comment for the sake of it (but so you don’t feel left out seen as I replied to everyone else!) I could not agree more dude, he was a revelation last season wasn’t he. I can’t wait to see what he does in the next one!
STAT PADDING ALERT!!!!
LOL, sorry, just COULDN’T resist hehe
Good call BomBom…. HDM, hang your head in shame.
LOL mikey, is it Pandapop time already? geesh!
Guys this is what I consider “my duty” I DON’T have to reply to comments, I chose to reply to them (and it isn’t to boost my rating at all) it has been something I have always done to try and make the site more welcoming. Besides (like I have said before) posting comments time and time again within the same article doesn’t boost a points score as it takes FAR longer to gain points doing it that way.)
Fair point HDM… didnt mean to cause any offence…
You are excused this time Mr Mikey 🙂 Although I have put one strike against EACH of your names, how many strikes you get I’ve not decided yet though LOL!
Surely 78 is the standard number???
You know what, for some reason that does spring to mind! 77 to go LOL.
Excellent. Quite a way to go there, I was under the impression it might only be 3.
