Orr preferred to Sutter

Welcome to transfer deadline day which for Rovers inevitably a lack of excitement and more a nervous look at the exit door to see if the likes of Chris Samba, Junior Hoilett, Mauro Formica, Steve N’Zonzi or Martin Olsson all make a late burst for somewhere else after a big bid from another club.

The first news racing out of the tracks without a second thought comes in the form of a right back acquisition.

Rumour has been bound over the last few days that Young Boys player Scott Sutter would be joining Rovers but it looks as if the young lad has been passed up in favour of QPR right back Bradley Orr.

Blackburn need some cover at right back with Michel Salgado on his way out and Jason Lowe playing out of position in the spot at present.

So Orr seems a natural choice given the he is going to cost the square root of bugger all and will provide competition as a dedicated right back.

Elsewhere expect the final day to be relatively quiet unless someone picks up the want away Mauro Formica for the £3 million asking price.

Keith Andrews should complete his move to another club (likely to be Wigan) after voiding his loyalty bonus with his transfer request yesterday.

On the incoming side of things, if there are to be any more expect it to be in midfield and expect it to be either a freebie or a loan of some description.

The rest of the time will likely be spent rejecting bids for the players that we do actually want to keep.

Oh and expect Martin Olsson’s twin brother Marcus to rock up at some point today after finalising a two and a half year deal yesterday.
