Blackburn had to be content with a point at Reading on Saturday in a game that saw both sides offer little on the afternoon really, from the hosts’ point of view little would have been seen to suggest that they’ll be able to keep the Championship interest in the FA Cup going any further than the semi finals.

If Reading didn’t have the semi final with Arsenal to prepare for you would be forgiven for thinking this was a typical end of season games played our by two sides with little to play for in the league.

Then again maybe it was that semi final in mind from Reading that played a part in this nil-nil draw at the Madjeski Stadium?

Blackburn best effort actually came from a Marshall cross that Reading ‘keeper Federici has to turn away.

Reading could have won the game through Robson-Kanu, who went close, with Akpan going even closer with a header that was cleared away from the goal line with the points shared.
