Rhodes Seeks Phenomenal Run

Blackburn Rovers back in the Premier League is something that we all want to see. Well I say we all want to see, I want this but it’s basically Premier League Football in the modern era that has tarnished football for me and played a part in the wrong doings at Ewood Park!!

However, Premier League Football is where it’s at and what it’s all about.

This is a level that Jordan Rhodes has been linked with moves to more than once since he came to Ewood but the goalscoring machine (who has reached his half century of goals for us since his arrival in August 2012) is still with us but has made it clear that he wants to play at that level, however, he wants to do this with Rovers.

A Play-Off place looks a tall order for us now with us seven points adrift of Reading but the Scottish International isn’t losing all hope yet with the 24-year-old thinking that a “phenomenal run” could yet see us sneak into the end of season Play-Off bid.

When asked by The Lancashire Telegraph if he wanted Premier League Football he said: “Ideally yes. When we wake up in the morning that’s what everyone at this club is striving for.

‘This club deserves Premier League status again and if we go on a phenomenal run between now and the end of the season you never know – but it might be next season now.

‘But we’ll take one game at a time, try and do our best and with that mentality in mind we’ll see where we are come May 3.

If Rhodes can bang in plenty of goals, starting against his former side Ipswich Town tomorrow, then you can’t completely rule it out but we’ve got to be honest that it would have to be a truly remarkable run that would even exceed phenomenal (with so many other results going our way) to make the Play-Offs this season.

Hopefully it bodes well for next season though, the problem is can we hang onto Jordan??
