Rovers have received a welcome injury boost with the return to action of fans favourite goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

Robinson, who has not seen a first team game in 2013, has been out of action with a potentially life threatening injury and illness which included a problematic operation and a blood clot.

But after a long, arduous journey back into contention, Robinson took the next step after training with the first team by taking part in a behind closed doors friendly against Carlisle on Monday afternoon.

Although low key, it is a significant step for Robinson, who will be expected to compete for the number one shirt with Jake Kean and Simon Eastwood, who made his league debut on Saturday in the 0-0 draw with QPR.
