Rovers accept FA charge

Rovers have accepted an FA charge for failing to control their players during the 2-2 draw with Blackpool.

The DJ Campbell and entire Blackpool team inspired mini-brawl left both clubs facing the charge, one which Rovers have accepted at their earliest convenience.

Despite the sending off and the player fracas, added to the rather moronic sending off of Grant Hanley in the recent outing against Wigan, manager Gary Bowyer has stated there is no discipline problem at the club.

“We have accepted the charge and we move on – it`s as simple as that for us,’ Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph.

“We`ve lost DJ for three games and that is a blow for us.

“We`ve spoke about the importance of keeping our discipline and not having sending offs but it is part and parcel of the game.

“If you look at it another way – is passion being displayed there? Sometimes it`s up to us to learn to control it.”

Campbell starts his three game suspension tomorrow against Middlesbrough whilst Hanley completes his by sitting out the same tie.

The good news however for Rovers is that both Dickson Etuhu and David Dunn are back in the squad after coming through a more intensive week of training which does leave Bowyer with more options than in recent games.

But the real problem appears to be upfront with only Jordan Rhodes and Leon Best as recognised available strikers at present, this has even led to speculation that Rovers could be forced into the loan market to find replenishment.
