Rovers manager Gary Bowyer has revealed that Adam Henley could be out for the remainder of the season after scans showed that Rovers ankle injury curse has struck again.

The club have now had a borderline ridiculous batch of EIGHT ankle injuries this term, with DJ Campbell, Dickson Etuhu, Tom Cairney, Ben Marshall, Markus Olsson, Corry Evans and Jason Lowe all previously having faced lay offs with ankle related problems.

And the curse has bit, with Henley’s second half injury from the weekend proving a season killer.

‘Unfortunately that might be Adam’s season finished,’ the manager told the official website. ‘Which is a crying shame for the lad and us.

‘He’s fallen victim to the injury on Saturday that he picked up so that might be him for the season so we are disappointed with that.

‘He got his ankle caught as he went to defend the cross against Schlupp and he’s gone right over on it and the diagnosis at the moment is that the season might be finished before he is back playing.’

Right back has been a problem spot for Rovers this season, with both Henley and Kane struggling for true consistency in the position. With Henley out the onus may fall on Kane to pick up the slack, but Rovers could use Michael Keane and Jason Lowe in the spot as well.
