Rovers have completed the signing of Luke Varney from Leeds, initially on an emergency loan deal.

Varney has been known to want out of Elland Road for a while now, having endured an uneasy spell in West Yorkshire and a strained relationship with the fans over there.

So the move will come as something of a relief to the former Blackpool and Crewe man, who has move under the terms of the emergency loan window until May 11th.

The Rovers official website does state that the club are looking to make the deal a permanent one come the summer, but for now Gary Bowyer will be happy to at least have some striking cover – with only Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes in as attacking options given recent sales and loans.

Welcome to Ewood Park Luke.
