Blackburn Rovers are one of several clubs that are understood to be interested in former West Ham Untied striker Ilan.

West Ham surprisingly released Ilan recently (despite a fairly successful spell at Upton Park) after signing from St Etienne in January, however, the 29-year-old is attracting a lot of interest including a reported interest from Sam Allardyce. The Brazilian was keen to remain in the Premier League with the Hammers but that wasn’t to be, however, he still believes he’ll get another club in England.

Ilan told skysports.com: “I did well in the Premier League and I was hoping to continue where I left off next season, but West Ham had other ideas, that’s football.

“I have a good record here and in France so I’m confident that a club in the UK or Europe will call my agent (Rob Shield) and I can get something sorted before training starts again.

As well as the reported interest from Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Sunderland, Wigan Athletic and Newcastle United are understood to be interested along with clubs from Turkey and Germany.
