Rovers are in for another important summer in the transfer market, as the ongoing battle between financial regularities and being good enough to fight for promotion continues.

Manager Gary Bowyer has gone on record as stating that the club do not expect to see the mass revolving door transfer policy that has plagued and hindered previous windows as Rovers try to redress the balance.

But strengthening areas of the squad is of the utmost importance, with the manager admitting he needs more bodies of the ilk of signing he made last season.

“It`s going to be a big summer for us because obviously financial fair play comes in,” Bowyer told the Lancashire Telegraph.

“We`re aware of what we`ve got to do and we`re trying to implement that now.

“We`ve released quite a few players throughout the course of the year, I think it`s been 26 in total.

“We`ve made inroads on that wage bill but we`re not kidding ourselves, we know it`s still got to be addressed.

“But at the same time we`ve got to make sure we`re still competitive, as we were last season.”

Rovers are facing sanctions under the current FFP rulings, with the club facing a transfer embargo in January if the current rules are not successfully contested by the clubs before the deadline.
