Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts is understood to be on his way out of Ewood Park.

Skysports.com understands that Rovers will listen to offer for the 32-year-old who has often struggled to hold down a regular first team place under Sam Allardyce. Roberts ended last season quite strongly and does posses some of the qualities that Allardyce likes in his strikers, however, as JR is in the final year of his contract (and a new one isn’t likely to be offered) he’s available for the right price.

Should offers come in above £750,000 it’s understood that the Grenadian International would be allowed to leave Rovers, and one of his former clubs West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a move for the experience striker this summer.

However, Queens Park Rangers are understood to be showing an interest now.

  • We mjst have at least two strikers in mind here toherwise this is just daft?! Whatever your personal feelings on J-Rob…

  • Depending on how far Kalinic is from playing? We could live with him until a newcomer is in and then give some young players the chance, don’t we have a new “Jones” just as a forward instead? JR is something in the middel not good and not bad so we could live with if we just get a new guy before end of august…cheers

  • I agree we definitely need at least one big striker signing with maybe another on loan if we sell JR. think Diouf could happen as man u usually have Rooney up front on his own so he’s bound to be loaned out.

  • Diouf has signed, he’s been at Brockhall today meeting the squad, Man United website basically confirms it, as well as welbeck to Sunderland. Heard from sources that we are looking to tie up a deal by next weekend for an un named French striker, who has played in the premier league before… the money raised from Roberts sale would help to fund this… so expect a quick fire sale.

  • im on the fence a little, can’tr stand Roberts but the money being mooted it makes more sense to keep him, he don’t score alot, but i can’t knocjk him for effort
