Rovers manager Big Sam Allardyce was left somewhat underwhelmed by the debut appearance of short term contract man Yildiray Basturk.
He of the Inglourious Basturk played 45 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Wolves and despite showing glimpses was a little off the pace at times.
This did not go unnoticed by Allardyce who saw the good and also the bad.
Allardyce speaking to Sky Sports said – “He struggled at times. This was his first game for a long time and this is a quick league in the Premier League.
“You could see the quality he has but unfortunately that quality didn`t come when we needed it most, when he only had to pick Martin Olsson out and he over hit the pass.”
With Basturk`s having a race against time in the first place, it seems unlikely he will be retained on a longer contract past the end of his current one.
But Allardyce is prepared to give him another go in one of the last two games of the season.
“I don`t know. I will try and give him a game in the next two somewhere and see where we go from there,”
Bit harsh to publicly go to town on him maybe?
