Update On Blackburn Transfer Embargo

It’s been confirmed, following previous reports this could be the case, by the Football League that Blackburn, and Nottingham Forest, could both see the transfer embargos put in place in January under the FFP regulations lifted before the summer transfer window closes!

If Rovers, and Forest too, are to have transfer bans lifted it’ll mean more player sales though! Blackburn’s selling of Rudy Gestede to Aston Villa moved that exit ‘nearer and nearer’ according to what Rovers managing director Derek Shaw said recently.

The Lancashire Telegraph today carries part of the statement from the Football League that’s been issued on this matter.

‘Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest continue to be subject to FFP embargoes relating to their returns for 2013/14 season.

‘Both clubs will have the opportunity to remove their existing embargo during the remainder of the current transfer window by using any funds raised from player sales to cover previous losses.’

Now it comes down to the thoughts would it be better for another player to leave Ewood Park in the next couple of weeks to see this embargo lifted or would it be better for this to be left in place and the squad remain as it is….a conundrum!

However I’d have to say a £10,000 per-week wage cap, 40 grand per-month, isn’t that little is it! A player, and decent player at that, could live on that couldn’t they? It’s attracting the qualities players on a free or loan that’s the problem though I guess.

Thoughts?
