Blackburn’s Championship season continued with a draw at Ewood Park against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.

Lambert’s first home game in charge twice saw Rovers ahead through Akpan and Evans but on each occasion Sheffield Wednesday cancelled leads out with Sougou and Joao hitting back in a two-two draw.

It didn’t take Blackburn long to take the lead when Akpan (5) headed a Conway corner past Sheffield Wednesday ‘keeper Westwood.

Which was a lead that looked like it would be taken into the break, but Wednesday were level when Lee’s effort against the post was followed up by Sougou (39) to make it one-all.

Still there was time for Rovers to again go ahead before the break when Evans (44) fired home, with his effort deflected past Westwood, who had no chance!

Another equaliser was something Sheffield Wednesday pushed for with the in-form Forestieri going close; he then looked to set up Hooper who couldn’t get a definitive touch.

Joao (84) earned Wednesday a point though with six-minutes to play as a mis-hit Lee shot came to the sub who headed past Steele to deny Lambert a perfect start from his opening two-matches.
