Blackburn’s Championship season continued with a draw at the John Smith’s Stadium against Huddersfield on Saturday.

A first point of the season was picked up by Rovers as they came back from a goal down, scored by Wells, to draw one-one with a first goal for the club from Delfouneso however the latest injury to Rhodes against his former club will be of major concern….

Huddersfield had already gone close through a Hudson effort that was cleared off the line before Scannell set up Miller, as he had Hudson, who was denied by Rovers ‘keeper Raya with Wells (10) following up.

Rhodes was denied a leveller by ‘keeper Murphy before the Scottish international was forced off, after a challenge with Whitehead, to start the second half.

Delfouneso (60), who had come on, volleyed Rovers level on the hour to ensure that Bowyer’s side went back to Lancashire with a point, which was ensured when Butterfield’s effort was saved by Raya, who would appear to have established himself as the no.1.

  • Hope Akpan looked the business when he came on. The change of formation helped, but HA looked like a solid presence in deep midfield.

  • Akpan literally does bring us Hope then Christopher?? What I’ve seen of Akpan he looks like he’ll more than hold his own at Championship level so should do well for Rovers.
