Blackburn Rovers defender Zurab Khizanishvili has said that he is seeking talks with Sam Allardyce over his future after admitting his frustration at the lack of first-team football he’s getting.

The Georgian International (who has been linked with a move to Galatasaray) still has two-years left on his current contract but was limited to just three Premier League starts last season. Khizanishvili is frustrated at his lack of football but has said he’s happy at Ewood Park he just wants to know what Allardyce’s plans are for him, and if he isn’t part of them he could move on if he is allowed this chance.

Khizanishvili told the Lancashire Telegraph: “It has been a little bit frustrating because the football side of things has not been going as I hoped it might be.

“The season though is finished so we will see what happens next season. There is no point talking about what happened in the past.

“I still have a two-year contract with Blackburn, it is up to them really, so all I can do is look forward.

“I don’t know if I will still be here next season. All I can say is I have a contract so I am a Blackburn Rovers player.

“I want to play here, but that is my opinion, I don’t know what the club are thinking so we will have to talk and see what happens from there.

“I still like it at Blackburn. I am not unhappy; I just wish I was playing a bit more.

Personally I feel that Zurab doesn’t get the right amount of credit that his quality deserves as he’s a better football than most might think. However, the Monk isn’t really right-back material so he can’t slot in there nor is he better than Ryan Nelsen on Christopher Samba so he’ll always be behind them on a regular basis so that doesn’t leave him much of a chance so I’d think it’s in his best interests to move on, even if this isn’t something that I necessarily want to happen.

Meanwhile Renato Civelli has admitted that he wants to leave Marseille, so this will have alerted Rovers with it understood that he’s a target of ours.

The 25-year-old has been heavily mooted with a move to Anderlecht but the Argentine defender (who can play right-back or in central defence) has said that he’d prefer to move to England or Spain. As well as our reported interest Aston Villa and Sunderland are also understood to be interested in Civelli.
