Best If Leon And Rovers Part

Blackburn Rovers have already “mutually” parted company with David Goodwillie, Dickson Etuhu and DJ Campbell this summer, however, I’m not entirely sure Leon Best will go the same way??

He’ll leave (or we’ll want him to) but not in such a manor in my honest opinion.

Alex Marrow left Ewood Park down to a mutual agreement on Tuesday (he’s now signed for Carlisle United) as well to make it four players this summer that have basically had their contracts “ripped up” with Jordan Slew (and Best of course) the only players transfer-listed by Gary Bowyer to remain with the club but you’d like to think that the twenty-seven-year-old has moved a step closer to leaving now as he wasn’t included in the squad that went to Portugal to this week.

With Marrow gone and speculation linking Slew with an exit it wasn’t really a surprise that none of this trio joined the 27-man squad that set off for the warm weather training camp, despite his two goals in the win over AFC Telford United. That hasn’t changed anything as Rovers still want him off the wage bill.

It’s unlikely that he’ll also have his contract ripped up (due to the costs involved) but we’ll only be asking a nominal if any fee at all, however, it’s best for all now if we part company but this might be easier said than done!!

Ruben Rochina (it seems, and I can’t remember if he was transfer-listed or not??) going to the Algarve might mean that we’ve not seen the last of him at Ewood after all?? It’s been made clear we’re welcoming offers for him but his leaving might not be a certainty.
