Blackburn Rovers produced the goods (in a match Gary Bowyer said was an unbelievable performance) to beat Ipswich Town 2-0 at Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon.

I was close as I felt Blackburn would win, however, I’d got a feeling it would be 2-1!!

Rovers have now won successive matches at Ewood and are getting some momentum going with an unbeaten run, which will be stopped by the International Break unfortunately!! I do think its come at the right time though as we’ve got some players that’ll benefit from this.

Bowyer told The Official Blackburn Rovers Website he also felt it was the most complete team performance under his Management: “It was an unbelievable performance against a very good team.

“I think it was probably the most complete team performance in the time that we’ve been in charge. I can’t praise the players high enough.

“We got off to a great start thanks to a great run from Hope and then there’s no better person to take the penalty.

“Then we have yet another quality delivery from Craig and Jordan scores with an unbelievable header. I thought last week’s was terrific, but this week’s was even better.

Jordan Rhodes (as he usually does) scored against one of his former clubs with his two first half goals enough for the points.

When you score goals you’ll get the credit as goals win matches don’t they!! However, Bowyer was quick to share the praise.

The Rovers Manager added: “You saw a team today that have really got each other’s backs.

“The pressing from Ben Marshall to start off with really set the tone and when you’ve got the front two closing down like they did, Tom Lawrence and Jordan Rhodes have ran from the middle of the pitch to put the centre-halves under pressure and it is infectious, it rubbed off on everybody.

“In the first half we were terrific with our football and our pressing. And in the second half we showed great resilience.

“You see the firepower that Mick has available to him and he chucked them all on at one point, so to come away with a clean sheet is outstanding for us.

Momentum is what you need in football and Rovers have this so we’ll be hoping this will continuing after the break at The stadium:MK against Milton Keynes Dons.
