The BRFC Action Group have today announced plans to hold a community march aimed at showing the growing unrest at Blackburn Rovers under the ownership of Venky’s and the team management of Steve Kean.

Rovers are now three points adrift of safety with four games to go and face being without players not just because of injury but because of the budget restrictions meaning certain players are unavailable due to contract clauses.

As a result of the increasing likeliness of relegation and the problems that follow, the group have announced plans to demonstrate the resistance to a continued Venky’s ownership dynamic.

The statement is as follows –

‘Sections of Blackburn Rovers supporters will hold a community march on Saturday 21st April ahead of the home match against Norwich City. This march will carry the message ‘Blackburn wants its Rovers back` and will call for the removal of manager Steve Kean, the board of directors and for Venkys to sell the club.

The current regime at Blackburn Rovers football club has shown complete disregard to the clubs supporters and the town of Blackburn. It is intended that the community march will leave Blackburn Town Hall at 1.30pm and proceed to Ewood Park in time for kick off.

“The BRFC Action Group is absolutely thrilled with the response of the public. We have been inundated with messages of support from across the globe and feedback from supporters has been fantastic.

Blackburn Rovers football club is part of its supporter`s extended family and is the one common thing which pulls the town together. To the people of Blackburn, this is no longer just about losing football matches, this is about the very future of the football club and the very fabric of Blackburn.

Our football club is a 137 year old institution which has seen it`s traditions and values destroyed in less than 18 months. It takes only a few hands to bulldoze our club but it will take many hands to rebuild it and the whole community needs to come together to breathe life back into Blackburn Rovers.

Venkys cannot make us feel inferior if we do not give them our consent. ‘Words divide us, actions unite us` and if we are unified there is nothing that we cannot achieve” Brfc Action Group Committee.
